Personal Support Assistants (PSA) – Our Assistants provide personal care tasks such as assistance with:

  • Eating
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Preparation of Meals
  • Housekeeping Tasks
  • Other Activities of Daily Living
  • Plan /Prepare Meals for client
  • Ambulation Transfers
  • Shower
  • Shampoo
  • Monitor Skin Condition
  • Assist with brushing
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Assist with dressing
  • Assist with toiliting
  • Timely Continent Care
  • Take out trash for client
  • Wash dishes for client
  • Dust, Mop, Sweep, Vacuum
  • Clean Client’s Bedroom
  • Change Linen Make client’s bed
  • Laundry for client
  • Clean client’s bathroom
  • Pick up prescription drugs
  • Remind client to take Medications
  • Pick up Prescription Drugs
  • Arrange / Accompany to doctor
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Pay Bills

This is a synopsis of what it is to be a PSA. Personal Support Assistant. I work with the physically and mentally challenged and the elderly caring for their needs. It is a very enriching position. You grow to love your client’s and helping them daily. Working as a PSA will only enhance my decision to continue to apply for my CPS Certified Peer Specialist Certification. I thoroughly enjoy working as a PSA and love my job! I love getting up every morning and facing the day!
