Do you believe in predestination? As we studied and Honorable Ozburn lectured on Ephesians this morning we got into the subject of predestination and spiritual blessings.
The Apostle Paul wrote Ephesians while in prison in Rome. It is known as the Prince of all Epistles and the greatest writing under history. Paul being a missionary. On his 3rd journey he visited the Province of Asia ( Turkey) and after a few months they threw him out and so he started a school and became more of a preacher than a missionary.
Ephesians Ch 1 – 3 Doctrine Fundamental to our beliefs
Ephesians Ch 4 – 6 Conduct
We are all united under Christ the church. Ch 1 14 verses were read last week. If one is an Apostle he is sent and taught and commissioned by Christ. We have Grace. God’s unmerited favor. Unmerited meaning we do not deserve it. It is a free gift. Paul prayed to God 3 times for him to reveal and relieve the thorn from his side. The Lord replied My grace is sufficient for you. Grace gives us power to do missions in his name. Grace is only mentioned twice in Revelation being Verse 4 and the last verse of the last chapter. Where grace and peace are concerned every word is important. Until you accept God’s grace you cannot walk in peace. Love, Care and Peace in a Christian home can be easily recognized as they are not worried nor near as upset as a non Christian home. The shortest verse in the Bible being Jesus Wept. (For Lazarus)
It is not based on your circumstances it is based on your relationship with Jesus. V 3 Paul calling for Praise. Recognizing his Glory and grace because he has already blessed us. If you have a low regard for what God has done for you one may feel that you do not need salvation or you can earn it on your own. This is wrong.
V3 Who has received these blessings? We have. Every person who believes has received these blessings.
Spiritual blessings in heavenly places. Praying for material blessings for others is just fine as it may give them more power and means to do for themselves and for others. Have a selfless heart if you do pray. Spiritual blessings far better than temporal. He has blessed you with scripture and salvation. Temporal being money, physical health. Animals need to eat, reproduce, sleep and entertain self.
Genesis 1 26, 27 We are made in the image of God. It is a sobering thought to live at that level and one knows spiritual blessings.
V4 Ephesians v 11
We have a predestination to receive an inheritance according to the good pleasure of his Will. According to the riches of his grace. We are not meant to understand. God is a God of Love. We are to trust our Savior.
A W Tozer died in 1963 and wrote over 40 books. The Pursuit of God and Knowledge of the Holy being two very important works. Do not get pride in your heart Not even as you pray. Dealing with trials grows us. Later you will look back and say that is why that occurred. The key is to trust him and not worry. Do not doubt him. When you are saved you will still sin but need to ask for forgiveness and with each passing day will sin less and less while asking for forgiveness.
Ephesians 1 11, 12 In him also we have obtained an inheritance. Those of us who first trusted Christ. You are the object of my Love, Mercy, Grace, Redemption and Choice.
(He willed all the events of our lives) sealed by the holy spirit. Philippians 4 : 13 The work of the Holy Spirit will be studied next week along with the passing out of the passage in the book entitled “Ephesians” whereas it discusses predestination.
V 13 Our prayers are sealed.
I personally am excited for next week to receive a copy of this subject on predestination and the fact that “He willed all the events of our lives.” I have always felt this way since a very young girl. Knowing and feeling that God knew everything before it was about to happen and that the events to come were always God’s Will and Purpose for my life.
I spoke briefly in class today to the fact of how Honorable Ozburn had been my family law attorney as a teenage girl and then also held the hand of my youngest daughter in his chambers as acting Judge ruling in our favor time and time again and then onto becoming a Church Ministry Partner and growth group leader and mentor in my life.
I feel that between Honorable Ozburn and I we have been predetermined to leave behind a lasting legacy for family violence victims, the parentally alienated, parental reunification and for the mentally challenged in a court of law and in life. I have felt strongly for years now that we were predestined to carry this out as part of God’s strong will and purpose for our lives and for the lives of future generations in the O.C.G.A. and around the globe to come in future years ahead.
I have fervently prayed for God to show me his divine purpose and will for my life and Honorable Ozburn has came into my life time and time again since a very young girl. With Honorable Ozburn also serving over The Mental Health Courts of The Alcovy Judicial Circuit being Newton and Walton Counties he has been introduced to View Point Health and the New Rock Day program that I am a graduate of and has been made fully aware that the last year I have been working as a nursing assistant.
I feel strongly and deeply that the Lord divine purpose and will for our lives and predestination has begun and will be fulfilled once a complete and solid reunification process has taken place with me and my girls as has been ordered by Honorable Ozburn and Honorable Rhymer just patiently and gently waiting for my daughter to have the desire to be a part of my life and have our loving bond once again as she was only 4 years old at the time our estrangement and alienation period and with Mr. Sasser remaining in a constant state of contempt to spite what several judges have already told him in that our relationship is what is best for everyone involved and ordered to have my daughter in therapy and underway in our reunification process.
I will continue to pray to God that he continue the good work in me so that I may help others who may have or is suffering with the same hurts, anxiety, depression or anguish and that the Lord continue to carry out his predestination for my life. Striving and longing for his full Will and purpose to be shown to me in my life. Trusting that he will all in due time. His perfect timing.
Honorable Ozburn shared this quote today:
“God will not hold us responsible to understand the mysteries of election, predestination, and the diving sovereignty. The best and safest way to deal with these truths is to raise our eyes to God and in deepest reverence say “O Lord, Thou knowest.” Those things belong to the deep and mysterious Profound of God’s omniscience. Prying into them may make theologians, but it will never make saints.” A W Tozer The Pursuit of God
