Books written by Paul

Father, I pray that I might truly believe that I have been saved with the distinct purpose of serving You with works You have marked out for me. I am Your creation, intended by You to carry out Your plan within my family, neighborhood, and my country. I am Yours to be used as You will.

I pray for (myself) that they might accept their lot in life; I pray that hey might not envy those who have a more prominent position nor despise those who appear to have a lessor role in life. I pray that no task would be too lowly nr too obscure, but that they might see it as an opportunity to serve You Let us be content with where You have planted us, believing that we are created for today and that we are being led by Your hand. We are here for “Such a time as this.”

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is much debate about the author or authors of The Book of Hebrews.

In Ephesians 3:13

Paul reveals the mystery of the news of the unity of Jews and non Jews. He is declaring they are all equal and have access through the holy spirit and are all united. God being our Father. That we should go to him and that he wants us to come unto him for help and guidance.

Paul was in prison while writing Ephesians. Peter had also been imprisoned. In the powerful Ephesians letter Paul discusses his “tribulations.”

One would be expected to feel much fear and discouragement. Why was Paul in prison? Acts 21 – 25 Paul was going to Jerusalem. God was calling him to go there. Seized by Roman soldiers to protect him. He then delivered a brilliant sermon.

Commanded by Christ to teach of the Messiah to the Gentiles. Paul was a Roman citizen. He made his appeal to Ceasar of Rome. The center of culture. All roads led through Rome. To spread the word through the entire Empire and to more Gentiles. Paul was not intimidated and was more determined than ever.

Paul received a blessing according to Ephesians as we should also.

Ephesians 2 : 8-10 Created for good works that God has prepared for us to do. A plan for each of us to perform certain good works. This is why he made us.

Ester 4: 13-14 Esther’s parent’s die and Mordac adopts her. Esther got placed in the Kings household. King Mordac was going to kill all of the Jews. Mordac to adopted daughter – “For such a time as this.”

Ephesians 3 : 13 Out of this suffering I see you blessed and I praise God for it. He has plans for every single one of us. We play a role in God’s eternal plan. “For such a time as this.” He has designed works to bring him the Glory.

Ephesians 2 : 8-10

Envy is a sin because it charges God with unfairness where we are with divine province.

It is the sin of discernment. Everybody has a role in God’s plan. Envy is a sin. Shows that you do not trust God and you are not content. You have become discontented. One should be content and not full of covetousness. The matters of heart stuff. Do you question his ability to make good on his promises? Do you have a lack of faith?

Philippians Ch 4 11-13 Paul mentions contentment. Same books while in the same prison. Contentment is not based on circumstances. Later Paul was be headed.

Phil 1: 20 He was cold and hungry. Therefore a reason to never lose focus or serving and praising Christ. Contentment is based on Christ. Phil 3: 8

Poor choices, wasted opportunities they weigh us down. Examine your heart. Your eyes may have strayed from Christ. You may question why am I in this situation?

“Guard your Heart.” Honorable Samuel D. Ozburn

Do a heart check and stop grumbling and having a critical tongue. Stop the activity that is causing the grumbling and look at the prize. What are you striving for? What is blocking you? Think. Think of what it is you are thinking about. God has a plan for everyone. Matthew 11:30 “Take my Yoke.”

If we yoke oneself to him and keep our eyes on him as the prize.

Phil 4 : 8 Do not let discontentment govern you. Honor the Savior and the church at no cost. It is eternal and helping people. You will not lose your salvation but your works will not stand up to judgment.
